Sorry

I am truly sorry for having been away so long.  Work pressures and a sudden illness in my sister have kept me so tied up with just getting through the day that most days I did not get home until late in the evening.  Still, I should have written, and for my lack of doing so, I apologize.

Things on both the work and sister fronts are not much better at the moment, but they have stabilized enough that I have a more predictable (although incredibly harried) schedule.  This predictability should allow me to resume more regular posting. 

One thing that has been on my mind during this time is a desire (and admittedly a great fear of trying and failing) to give up my pipe for Lent.  If I were to do this and be successful, I might be able to give it up for good.  But, I do not know if I have it in me at the moment to do it.

    The best way to stop smoking is to get tossed in jail for ten days. Or be in a hospital for ten days.

    I'm slowing down on posting, none of this shit is important anyway, and my computer seems to be getting ready to crash.

    Good to see you writing again professor. Regards to sister. Why not give up Lent for once? Or forever.

I appreciate all forms of comments on my writings. I find that I miss the sponteneity of coming to read them here when they were unmoderated. I believe I wrote less due to the moderation. I have decided to adopt limited moderation. Hopefully the prior problems with unfettered comments will not arise again. Please feel free to comment as you wish about the essays I write. I will maintain those comments that offer kind-hearted and gentle opinion... be it positive or negative. The opinions of your comments will, of course, need to have relevance to the post as well.
