Playing Hooky
I think I may not go into the U today, or I may only go in briefly in the afternoon. I am feeling the need to be away from responsibilities (at work) a bit. Hopefully it will not bite me in the butt doing this. All hell could break loose, I guess.

I appreciate all forms of comments on my writings. I find that I miss the sponteneity of coming to read them here when they were unmoderated. I believe I wrote less due to the moderation. I have decided to adopt limited moderation. Hopefully the prior problems with unfettered comments will not arise again. Please feel free to comment as you wish about the essays I write. I will maintain those comments that offer kind-hearted and gentle opinion... be it positive or negative. The opinions of your comments will, of course, need to have relevance to the post as well.
I hope so badly you ended up playing hooky! I think it would do you good!
ReplyDeleteDoesn't your university let academic staff work from home, Professor? I assume you can still get your work emails, and there must be teaching preparation or research you could do at home.
ReplyDeleteYes to all of the above. But for me, playing hokey is NOT doing that from home AS WELL as not going in. 🙂.
ReplyDeleteI did go in for about 2 hours though, because I needed to make some chemical solutions for my research students to use, and I checked e-mails once.
The research students ALSO had a flurry of text messages to me as well that I had need to respond to.
My "pipe dream" (pun intended) goal was to do NO work yesterday. I did not accomplish that, but it was reduced somewhat.
