Sick
I was bound and determined to keep running although this morning I did my five miles in a pattern: I did three miles, then because I was exhausted and hurting, I rested about five minutes and did another mile, then rested and did the final mile. Today was the first day in a long time that I absolutely did not want to run at all. But I needed to force myself so as to keep going. I am glad I did, although I had to modify it to a 3+1+1 pattern. That still counts as five. And for how badly I currently feel, it was the best I could do.
I am going to take an aspirin and lay down for an hour. I have class to teach, but it is not until 10:30 today. I can let some of the b*llsh*t paperwork I had planned to do this morning, slide for a bit. But, of course, I have to also get crap ready for the Department Meeting tomorrow most all of the rest of today after class.

I appreciate all forms of comments on my writings. I find that I miss the sponteneity of coming to read them here when they were unmoderated. I believe I wrote less due to the moderation. I have decided to adopt limited moderation. Hopefully the prior problems with unfettered comments will not arise again. Please feel free to comment as you wish about the essays I write. I will maintain those comments that offer kind-hearted and gentle opinion... be it positive or negative. The opinions of your comments will, of course, need to have relevance to the post as well.
Sorry you and your wife have caught 'it.' I hope it doesn't last very long. Take care and get better!

You are a true runner. Some of us will use any excuse to avoid exercise. Being sick is at the top of the list. Take care of yourself and get well soon.
ReplyDeleteNot really a runner... more of a person who fears stopping something it was hard to develop in myself. Approximately 3300 days of doing it every day (5 miles, initially walking, now running).
ReplyDeletehope you are both well soon.
ReplyDeleteCrazy man!!!
