Google +

It appears that "Google +" is being discontinued.  But, other aspects of Google are not.  What I read on line is that "Google+ Comments" are being shut down as well.  Google owns Blogger.  Blogger is the tool I use to write my blog.   I am not sure if I have my comments section through Google+, some other Google thing, or some other commenting system entirely.  It appears that I have what is the most common type of commenting system used by people writing on Blogger (It looks like most of the commenting sections that I use on other people's blogs who write on Blogger.).

Can anyone explain whether the commenting system I have here is Google + (which I would have to worry about and try to change to another style or something else and I do not have to worry?

I have no clue.

  1. From what I have found so far is that comments will not change. But because of lost data in my past, I have begun to back up my blog on my hard drive. I don't want to lose all those years of posts. It is easy to do.

  4. Dear Prof., I follow your blog by having installed its address on the sidebar of my blog, "Trainride Of The Enigmas". Most other blogs, I follow on GFC (Google Friend Connect). I don't follow any on Gooogle Plus, nor they me. I'd suggest a look at GFC to see if it's right for you.

  5. I'm pretty sure you have Blogger Comments, which is still supported.

The fact that your comments section is still working is a good sign, as the discontinuation of Google+ was set to happen on February 4!

I appreciate all forms of comments on my writings. I find that I miss the sponteneity of coming to read them here when they were unmoderated. I believe I wrote less due to the moderation. I have decided to adopt limited moderation. Hopefully the prior problems with unfettered comments will not arise again. Please feel free to comment as you wish about the essays I write. I will maintain those comments that offer kind-hearted and gentle opinion... be it positive or negative. The opinions of your comments will, of course, need to have relevance to the post as well.
