Corona & Education
I am not sure if that choice will be made and if it will come to pass, but it is worrisome. I am in an age range at risk, but I am not sure what to think, actually. While on-line delivery of educational content can suffice for simple lecture classes (even though face-to-face is still better), it feels especially rough for my laboratory based courses. I am also concerned about my research students as well.
We shall see what comes to pass.

I appreciate all forms of comments on my writings. I find that I miss the sponteneity of coming to read them here when they were unmoderated. I believe I wrote less due to the moderation. I have decided to adopt limited moderation. Hopefully the prior problems with unfettered comments will not arise again. Please feel free to comment as you wish about the essays I write. I will maintain those comments that offer kind-hearted and gentle opinion... be it positive or negative. The opinions of your comments will, of course, need to have relevance to the post as well.
The situation and responses are changing rapidly.
ReplyDeletePeople's lives at risk, people's income uncertain, people's retirement tanking... Students and their lab work seems a minor concern.
ReplyDeleteMaybe it is time to kick back, light up a pipe and pour a glass of Scotch; and realize that life is chaos and out of our control.
We, including me, always feel that we must be in control; and then a butterfly in South America flaps its wings....
Worry is not good. Sometimes you just have to ride the horse until it tires.
