I Do Not Understand

 

There is so much lately that I just do not understand.  I often feel like I am in the midst of a dystopian novel like Orwell's "1984" or Bradbury's "Fahrenheit 451" or Huxley's "Brave New World".  I would have never imagined the world I live in would become as it has.

I tend to not write a whole helluva lot of political thoughts on this blog, but have done so occasionally.  Yet, I think from my writings, folks understand my views.  

Yesterday, I learned very sadly, that several of my U's International Students incurred a Visa change in their status.  This change seems to be a precursor event whereas folks in the current administration (national) may attempt to deport these students.  

I know and have many of these students in class.  It is shameful that this sort of awfulness is going on. It leaves me very sad.  I worry for these students.

    The idiocy and insanity of our federal government will directly and negatively impact higher education. And I believe it to be deliberate. :(

I appreciate all forms of comments on my writings. I find that I miss the sponteneity of coming to read them here when they were unmoderated. I believe I wrote less due to the moderation. I have decided to adopt limited moderation. Hopefully the prior problems with unfettered comments will not arise again. Please feel free to comment as you wish about the essays I write. I will maintain those comments that offer kind-hearted and gentle opinion... be it positive or negative. The opinions of your comments will, of course, need to have relevance to the post as well.
