Action & Reaction
I worked through a lot of my feelings of yesterday morning during the afternoon and had a reasonably average day for the remainder of it. Today I am taking the "bull-by-the-horns" and am keeping myself busy and focused on getting tasks off my plate so that I can enjoy the day.
In a book of quotes I have from Mother Teresa, one affected me especially for today:

Just do small things because they need to be done, it hasn't got to have anything to do with love, that love crap is way overrated.
And don't live your life expecting pats on the back all the time, or doing things for others so you'll get some.
And always follow rule number one. LIFE IS UNCERTAIN - EAT DESSERT FIRST.
In addition to BBC's advice, life is also hard so tighten up the chin strap on your helmet. Everybody has lumps comeing so buck up and take em.
