Bust

My pipe is still in my hand.  I am angry and disgusted with myself for my failure.  Unfortunately, I am, sadly,  also relieved as well to still be smoking my pipe.

I am at a loss at the moment on how to make progress.  It is embarrassing, frustrating, and angering.  I hate myself for not doing what I said I would do.

No point in hating yourself for it.

Perhaps if your pipe were in your mouth instead of your hand you would be less stressed :)

Jokes aside I strongly relate to your dilemma. I smoke cigars and not pipes but the cycle of strong desire to quit > self deprecation on failure > resigned back into typical usage patterns is extremely familiar to me. Do you also inhale into your lungs? Makes it much more difficult to quit. I wish you the best of luck.

So it goes. I would imagine that god has bigger fish to fry than punishing you for lowering his Lent statistics.
