Button Hole
Harsh winds from mind's thoughts,
vibrate through you to create a weapon,
a piercing arrow aimed at my soul.
The past memories are gone,
their cherished beauty shredded
by the pain of present day.
All that was, is now gone.
I mourn for what was,
or... what appeared to be,
as I try to see a tomorrow.

Enough of the haiku! Professor, you are a sensitive soul in a coarse world. You have the wisdom and the strength not only to endure, but to emerge from the present distress with renewed joy and purpose. Don't let the jerks get to you!
Beautifully expressed but full of pain. Try to hold on to those memories and not let them be shredded by the current situation.
Oh dear. You are in torment of the soul. You've had too many hard times lately.
Sorry that you are in so much pain now.
Hold onto yourself, Professor. You have too much heart for this Purgatory of a world...
The past is gone. The present is all we have.

The Ol'Buzzard is right.
So poignant. Life can be tough.
Just checking in, Professor...Hope you're okay...
Are you okay, Professor? We're missing you.
the summer went by too quickly. think about how great it's gonna be in the spring when the leaves begin to sprout on your favorite tree.
Hey, Professor...Just checking in. You are missed...
Professor, I hope you have been able to use the last two weeks as a time of reflection and recalibration as you gird your loins for the joys and challenges ahead. Be well, and please do write at least a little something here when time permits.
Hope you're doing well, Professor, and using the last couple of weeks to recharge and recalibrate. Take care of yourself!
Oh, Professor! I thought the blog was no longer taking comments, but I just saw that you've wisely and sensibly and understandably restored comment moderation.
With whatever you're going through, I appreciate that this blog must be a source of contention among those trying to make claims on your attention. So you probably don't want your family and close friends to see that you still have "Internet friends" who are rooting for you and wishing you the best. I just hope you're holding up well to the pressure, and that you don't lose sight of the fact that you are appreciated by the audience of your blog. I'm sure there are many who, like me, are looking forward to your commenting again on your blog... but who understand that you may need to "lay low" online for some time. My best to you, sir!
